Summer Pack Trip - What You'll Need

Mountain regions are known for their wide temperatures ranges and weather that can change on a dime. In the summer months, mornings and evenings are cool (in the 40s or 50s) and the days are warm (typically in the 80s). It is important to bring a variety of clothing that can be layered to accommodate both warm and cold temperatures.
Items To Bring:
- Sleeping bag (20 degree rating or better)
- Approximately 3-5 changes of clothes, depending on
length of trip (clothes for riding should include jeans
and both long and short sleeve shirts, and clothes for
hiking should include shorts or long pants and t-shirts) - Warm jacket

- Light jacket
- Sweater or sweatshirt
- Raincoat and rain pants
- Hats (both a warm hat and a hat to shade from the sun)
- Gloves (warm gloves and, if desired, leather gloves for riding)
- Riding boots with heel and/or smooth bottoms
- Camp shoes (sandals or sneakers; can include Crocs, Tevas, Keens, etc.)
- Hiking shoes (sneakers or boots)
- Bug repellent and sunscreen
- Sunglasses

- Headlamp or flashlight (with extra batteries)
- Personal hygiene items
Optional Items:
- Bathing suit
- Towel (for bathing and swimming)
- Binoculars
- Camera
- Water filter
- Wet wipes (highly recommended)
